Lindsey Birdsong is Board Certified in Health Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has been named a Texas Healthcare Super Lawyer. For more than twenty years he has represented health care providers and related entities, including physicians, medical practices and both governmental and private hospitals.
We see ourselves as a strategic partner to our health care clients, helping them stay compliant as regulations, payor arrangements and the market keep changing.
Practice formation and transactions. We form professional associations, professional corporations and other entities for physicians and groups, and we handle practice acquisitions, joint ventures, and physician employment and recruitment agreements.
Stark Law and Anti-Kickback compliance. Referral relationships, leases, medical director agreements and compensation arrangements all have to fit within federal self-referral and anti-kickback rules. We review and structure these arrangements so they hold up.
False Claims Act matters. The False Claims Act allows the government, and private whistleblowers through qui tam lawsuits, to pursue providers over improper billing to Medicare, Medicaid and other federal programs. Penalties can be severe. We counsel providers facing government investigations and advise on qui tam matters.
Litigation. When a health care dispute ends up in court, we represent clients in the Eastern and Northern Districts of Texas.
